About Me

My name is Kelly, and I started quilting in May 2010 after attending my first Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild (LAMQG) meeting.  My friend invited me to meetings, and I kept turning her down, so when the May meeting came up, I was really going just to appease her.  I told my husband before I went to the meeting to not worry, because I wouldn't come home a quilter.  How wrong I was!

Before that meeting, I thought quilting was so not me - it was old-fashioned, and traditional, and granny-ish.  But at that meeting, when I saw the talent and the beautiful fabrics and how not-traditional it was, it was like I had to quilt!

I started this blog (although it used to be called "My First Quilt") to keep me accountable for the one quilt I wanted to make - my oldest daughter's "birthday" quilt.  Ironically, that's a quilt that I have yet to finish!  Hopefully that will change this year.

I've got the quilting bug, and I hope it never goes away!

I've been married to my husband for 9 years, and we have three kids - two girls and a baby boy.
