ECMQG Charity Quilt

I'm sure your familiar with the Modern BOM that Alissa had on Sew, Mama, Sew recently.  Well, the Emerald Coast MQG wanted to make a quilt that would be used as an incentive to raise money for a local charity, and we decided to go with Alissa's Modern BOMs.

The charity we chose is Children in Crisis, which is a foster care facility for children in four counties here in Northwest Florida.  Their mission statement is:
“Providing Homes and Establishing Hope” for the abused, neglected and abandoned children of Northwest Florida. The Children’s Neighborhood provides an emergency shelter for young children, and the family foster homes help with the severe shortage of foster homes in our community. Together, we can make a difference in the life of a child.
We were excited to take on this fundraising opportunity, and quickly got to work on the quilt itself.  When it came to choosing colors for the quilt, we decided to go with colors that have local significance to this region of the Gulf Coast - we used several colors from a FQ bundle of Kona solids in the Poseidon colorstory.  We also used prints from Lizzy House, Michael Miller, and Valori Wells.  And we used Kona Bone as the background in each block, and Kona Putty for the sashing between the blocks.  Isn't it beautiful?

One of our members (Marcy) has a longarm, and she so graciously quilted this for us.  The pictures don't do the quilting justice!  You can really tell Marcy let each block speak to her, and she had a fun time quilting it.

Of course, I had to take the quilt down to the beautiful town of Seaside, Florida for a proper quilt photoshoot.  It was a beautiful evening!

Anyways, all that to say that this quilt could be yours!  One person who donates will be receiving this beautiful quilt.  All you have to do is go here.
